NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - Lifted by the game-winning score from freshman Mikyla Grant-Mentis (Brampton, Ontario) with just 03.7 seconds remaining in regulation, the Merrimack College women's ice hockey team topped Connecticut by a score of 3-2 in the season-series final with the Huskies at Lawler Rink.

How It Happened
- Saturday's contest started out in very similar fashion to Friday's game in Connecticut, with the Huskies taking the first lead of the game in the opening half of the first. Kayla Mee would again net the game-opening goal as she did Friday, scoring on a slap shot from the point the found its way through multiple screens and into the back of the Warrior net.
- Like Friday's game, Merrimack would answer Connecticut's tally with a goal of their own, knotting the score back up at 1-1 at 7:47 of the first period. After a nice shot from the point from sophomore Dominique Kremer (West Fargo, N.D.) that would garner a nice save, redshirt sophomore Jackie Pieper (Edina, Minn.) would clean up the rebound and lift it over the tender to even the game at 1-1, which held into the second frame.
- The Warriors would get their first lead of the game early in the second period as sophomore Paige Voight (St. Michael, Minn.) would put the Warriors ahead with her 11th of the season, firing a solid wrist shot from the slot and sniping the lower left corner to beat the goaltender and give Merrimack the 2-1 lead.
- The Warriors would get multiple good looks at taking a two-goal lead on two late power play chances in the second, including two different shots that would ring off the post, but would see the score hold at 2-1 as the game headed into the final period.
- Connecticut would break their scoreless streak since the opening minutes of the first period at 7:46 of the third frame, scooping up a rebound after crashing the net and just flicking it over sophomore goaltender Samantha Ridgewell (Outlook, Saskatchewan) to tie the game at 2-2 with 12:14 remaining.
- After some near-misses from the Warriors late in the third that were inches from giving Merrimack the lead, it appeared the game would head to overtime in a 2-2 tie. But in the final 10 seconds of the game, Grant-Mentis would force a turnover in the neutral zone, take the puck in and make a nifty move by the goaltender to slide the puck into the net to give Merrimack the lead with just 03.7 remaining, ultimately being the game-winner for the Warriors.

- Voight's 11th goal of the season matches her career-high set last year as a freshman, reaching that total in 10 fewer games as a sophomore. She is tied for first on the team in goals
- After snapping an 11 game scoreless streak, Grant-Mentis has now scored in three of Merrimack's last four games, improving her stat line to 5g-11a-16p. Of her five goals this season, two are game-winners.
