BURLINGTON, Vt. - Boston College's Kali Flanagan had a goal to go with an assist in the second period and Katie Burt stopped all 20 Vermont shots as the Catamounts fell to No. 6 BC by a 3-0 score on Saturday at Gutterson Fieldhouse.

UVM falls to 10-9-7 overall with the setback and 6-5-5 in Hockey East play, while BC is now 18-3-4 (14-2-2 WHEA).

"Today wasn't our best game and I'm disappointed that we didn't come out with the focus and urgency that was needed to compete with a team of BC's caliber," said head coach Jim Plumer. "We will need to be better next weekend."

After a scoreless first period, the Eagles used a quick sequence over just 1:07 to grab a two-goal advantage. With under 14 minutes on the clock, Andie Anastos skated behind the UVM net and fed Makenna Newkirk for a sharp angle one-timer. Megan Keller received the second assist on the power play goal, which came at 6:22.

Flanagan proceeded to ink the scoresheet at the 7:29 mark of the period. Ryan Little bounced the puck off the boards in the neutral zone, allowing Caitrin Lonergan to walk in along the right wing. She then dished to Flanagan on the doorstep, where the chance was buried.

The Eagles then added insurance shortly after a minor penalty was assessed against Vermont. Flanagan corralled the puck off the ensuing faceoff, then sent it toward Caroline Ross. Ross found Flanagan back at the center point and allowed her to whack a shot through traffic, where it was redirected home by Delaney Belinskas just eight seconds into the power play.

Madison Litchfield registered 29 saves for the Catamounts in the setback, while Burt made 20 stops on the day to earn her 81st career win at BC and set a new all-time record in that program.

Next weekend (Jan. 27-28) the Catamounts head down Interstate 91 to Storrs, Connecticut to meet the UConn Huskies. Puck drop on Friday is at 7 p.m.
