ORONO, Maine - The Black Bears and Wildcats played game 2 of their weekend series Sunday afternoon where UNH took 4 points on the weekend with a 5-2 win Saturday and a 3-0 win Sunday.

New Hampshire scored their first goal 9:52 into the first period when Carlee Toews snuck the wrap-around just past Meghann Treacy on her right side; although UNH got the lone goal, Maine led on the shot chart with 11 shots on goal to UNH's 9 in the first.

New Hampshire scored their insurance goals in the 2nd period, first from Cassandra Vilgrain 5:05 into the period, giving UNH a 2-0 lead and finishing the afternoon for Treacy, who was relieved by Mariah Fujimagary. Treacy finished the afternoon saving 8 of 9 shots faced, getting her 15th loss of the season.

New Hampsghire's third goal came on a 5 on 3 power play with Alyson Matteau in the box for body-checking, and Brooke Stacey in the box for Interference. The 5 on 3 was scored by Sara Carison, giving UNH a final lead of 3-0. Kyra Smith got her 9th win of the year on her first career shutout, she stopped all 32 shots faced. Fujimagari stopped 21 of 22 in her relief effort.

The Black Bears go on the road this weekend, January 30th and 31st to face Providence; they return the following weekend to face Merrimack for Senior Weekend, February 6 and 7.
