ORONO, Maine - For the second consecutive game Maine shut out conference foe Merrimack, winning 1-0, and completing the weekend sweep on Senior Weekend.

Senior Goaltender Meghann Treacy, in her final regular season home game at Alfond Arena, saved all 31 shots she faced for her second consecutive shut out, her 5th of the season and 8th of her career.

The game remained scoreless through the first two periods, a very even contest in both penalties and shots; Maine lead in shots 13-11 on shots in the first, 16-10 in the second. Merrimack and Maine each accumulated 3 penalties for 6 minutes in the first two periods, and power play shots in the first two periods were also even, Maine 5 Merrimack 4.

The game-clinching goal came 5:44 into the third period when a shot by Audra Richards bounced off Merrimack goaltender Samantha Ridgewell right to the stick of Victoria Hummel, who buried it to give Maine the lead, 1-0; it was her second goal of the year. Assists went to Seniors Audra Richards and Brooklyn Langlois.

Meghann Treacy stopped all 10 shots she faced in the third period, even as Merrimack pulled their goalie for an extra skater for the last 1:30 of regulation. She finished the game with the W, improving her season record to 9-16-2. Samantha Ridgewell stopped 35 of 36 shots faced, her record falls to 4-17-1.
