ORONO, Maine - The Black Bears faced the 2nd ranked Eagles for the 2nd and 3rd time this season this weekend, and dropped game 2 Sunday afternoon by a final score of 7-2.

Boston College once again scored early in the first, 52 seconds in from Megan Keller unassisted. Maine's defense was able to slow down the Eagles for most of the first period, but the Eagles continued their eventual scoring streak when Alex Carpenter scored 15:18 into the period, just as the BC power play was ending, she was assisted by Lexi Bender and Dana Trivigno. Just over a minute later Lexi Bender scored a goal of her own from Makenna Newkirk and Andie Anastos. Finally 17:14 into the first, just under a minute later, BC scored their 4th goal of the period from Andie Anastos, assisted by Toni Ann Miano.

Maine starting goaltender Mariah Fujimagari was pulled after giving up a 4-0 lead after 1 period; she finished saving 21 of 25 shots faced, and got the eventual L for the Black Bears. Meghann Treacy replaced her in the second. Boston College also changed goaltenders after the first, Katie Burt left after saving all 3 shots she faced in the first, getting the eventual W for BC; she was replaced by Gabri Switaj.

In the second period Maine answered back 1:28 into the period on a goal from Morgan Sakundiak, assisted by Brooke Stacey & Mikayla Rogers, cutting the lead to 4-1. The score remained at 4-1 until 11:38 into the second period from Audra Richards; again the assists went to Rogers and Stacey, cutting BC's lead in half, 4-2.

Boston College answered with a goal of their own less than a minute after Richards' goal, from Tori Sullivan assisted by Meghan Grieves & Andie Anastos. With 15 seconds left in the period BC scored again by Kenzie Kent, assisted by Alex Carpenter. The period ended 6-2.

Only one goal was scored in the third, and it was in the very last minute, 19:34 into the period, by Megan Keller deflecting it in from Tori Sullivan, the secondary assist going to Haley Skarupa, on the power play to give BC a 7-2 lead which would be the final.

Treacy ended saving 25 of the 28 shots she faced in relief; Switaj for BC ended saving 20 of 22. Mariah Fujimagari's record falls to 1-2-0 on the season, Katie Burt's improves to 16-0-0.
