SCHENECTADY, New York --- The University of Maine women's ice hockey team tied Union College 1-1 at Messa Rink Saturday afternoon. Maine goes to 7-10-3 on the season, while Union College goes to 4-11-3.

Meghann Treacy (Lake Peakskill, New York) saved 4 shots on goal in the first period, and Shenae Lundberg saved 6 shots on goal to keep the game scoreless throughout the first frame.

The stalemate continued through the second period until Kathyrn Davis scored on the power play at (4:59) for the Dutchwomen. Alex Tancrell-Fontaine and Jessica Kaminsky each recorded an assist on the power play goal.

Maine evened the score at (13:56) with an unassisted goal from Hailey Browne. Browne took advantage of a fast break and beat Union's netminder to knot the score at one.

Treacy and Lundberg saved 12 combined shots on goal in the third period and 6 combined shots on goal in the overtime period to guide their respective teams to a tie.

Meghann Treacy saved 20 of 21 shots on goal, and Shenae Lundberg saved 21 of 22 shots on goal. The Black Bears were 0-4 on the power play, while the Dutchwomen scored one goal on their lone opportunity.

The Black Bears return to action January 5th at the Alfond Arena against Moncton. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
