HANOVER, N.H. - Senior captain Marie-Philip Poulin collected three points, including two goals, while juniors Sarah Lefort and Lillian Ribeirinha-Braga each had a goal and an assist to help the No. 5/6 Boston University women's ice hockey team defeat Dartmouth, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Arena.

BU (10-3-2, 6-2-0 WHEA) never trailed Dartmouth (4-3-0, 2-2-0 ECAC), scoring twice in the first period and once more in both the second and third stanzas. Poulin bookended the game with her eighth and ninth goals of the season, and she also assisted on Lefort's second-period strike. Ribeirinha-Braga tallied her first goal of the season and recorded her fifth career multi-point game. Senior Kayla Tutino, sophomore Samantha Sutherland and freshmen Victoria Bach and Rebecca Leslie each had a helper. Bach's assist extended her point streak to eight games (6g, 3a).

Sophomore Victoria Hanson was sharp between the pipes, stopping 21 shots to earn her seventh victory of the season. She has not allowed an even-strength goal in each of her last three starts and has held opponents to two goals or fewer in each of her last four games.

Poulin put BU ahead, 1-0, just 5:36 into the proceedings. Lefort, stationed at the top of the crease, redirected a Ribeirinha-Braga blast which Robyn Chemago saved. A scrum formed at the crease and Poulin came out of the pile with the puck, knocking it into the open net for her eighth goal of the season.

Ribeirinha-Braga used some superb stickhandling to extend the Terriers' lead to 2-0 halfway through the first frame. She intercepted an outlet pass and quickly found Leslie on the right wing in the Dartmouth zone. The freshman forward gave the puck right back to Ribeirinha-Braga, whose slick hands moved Chemago to her left and allowed for an easy finish into the left side of the cage.

The Big Green nearly got a goal back with two minutes remaining in the period, but Hanson came up with a huge stop. Devon Moir forced a turnover inside the BU zone and quickly fired a shot from inside the left circle, but Hanson flashed the left pad and kicked aside the puck.

Lefort made it 3-0 11:19 into the second stanza after some crisp passing from her linemates. Sutherland skated up the left wing and got it to Poulin in the middle. She gained the offensive zone and slid the puck to Lefort, whose shot from the left circle beat Chemago. It was the second point of the game for both Lefort and Poulin.

Dartmouth took a penalty with just four tenths of a second on the clock at the end of the second period, and BU capitalized on the ensuing power play 1:09 into the final frame. Tutino moved the puck from the left faceoff circle to Bach, who deftly backhanded a pass to Poulin at the bottom of the right circle. The senior captain made no mistake for her second goal of the contest.

The Big Green got two power-play goals in the third period but the result was never truly in doubt for the Terriers, who improved to 3-0-2 against the ECAC this season. BU will return to Hockey East play on Saturday, Dec. 6, when the Terriers trek to Vermont. Puck drop is set for 4 p.m.
