New Haven, Conn. - No. 1 Boston College (14-0-1, 9-0-0 WHEA) defeated Yale (4-4-1, 1-3-0 ECAC), 4-0, Tuesday night at Ingalls Rink to extend its win streak to 12 games. Freshman goaltender Katie Burt recorded her sixth shutout of the season against the Bulldogs, making 18 saves on the way to victory.

The Eagles controlled the tempo from the start, registering 20 shots against Yale's seven in the first period. Senior defenseman Emily Pfalzer scored the lone goal of the opening period in the 16th minute of play. Pfalzer's game-winning goal was assisted by junior forwards Haley Skarupa and Alex Carpenter.

Boston College added two goals in the second period. Two Eagles were sent off the ice in the sixth and seventh minutes as senior forward Emily Field was charged with hitting after the whistle and junior forward Dana Trivigno was called for checking. Twenty seconds after Field exited the box, the senior captain added some insurance with her fourth goal of the season. Field's short-handed goal extended the Eagle lead to 2-0 with just under 12 minutes to play in the second.

Junior forward Meghan Grieves, finding the back of the net for the third time this season, scored to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead heading into the second intermission.

BC continued its barrage of Bulldog goaltender Jaimie Leonoff in the third stanza. Yale made a goalie change eight minutes into the final period to break up the incessant Eagle attack.

Skarupa, with less than two minutes left to play, notched her 12th goal of the season to give Boston College a 4-0 victory.

Game Notes: BC tallied a season-high 56 shots against Yale...the last time the Eagles registered 50+ shots was in a 3-2 win vs. BU on Feb. 22...with her sixth shutout of the season, freshman goaltender Katie Burt has dipped below a 1.00 goals against average to 0.98, good for second in the nation...both Alex Carpenter and Haley Skarupa have earned at least one point in every game played this season.

The No. 1 Eagles are back in action this Friday, Nov. 28 hosting No. 7 Harvard at Kelley Rink at 2 p.m.
