CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Taylor Wasylk scored the game-winning goal, a short-handed tally late in the third period, and nine different Eagles recorded a point as No. 2 Boston College defeated Yale 4-3 Saturday afternoon at Kelley Rink.

Yale got on the board first with a goal by Jamie Haddad at 7:23 of the first period. The sophomore from Wilbraham, Mass. received a backwards pass from teammate Hanna Astrom in the neutral zone, skated behind the BC defenders, and fired the puck between BC goaltender Corinne Boyles' legs to give the Bulldogs the early 1-0 lead.

The Eagles answered with a goal of their own at 11:17 of the opening period. Melissa Bizzari flipped the puck from behind the net off Yale goaltender Jamie Leonoff's back and into the net. The puck hit off Leonoff's skate, bounced off the post, and kicked off the goaltender's back into the goal to even the score at 1-1.

Phoebe Staenz gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead with a short-handed goal at 18:41 of the middle stanza. Kate Martini fired the puck down the side of the ice from behind Yale's net and Staenz picked it up after it snuck by Bizzari on the boards, skated left to right and pushed a backhanded shot off the post and into the back of the net.

BC scored the first two goals of the third period to take a 3-2 lead. Lexi Bender buried a slap shot into the net from the top of the circle on a pass from Meagan Mangene, and Dana Trivigno found the puck in a scrum and stuffed it in to give the Eagles their first lead of the game.

Yale responded a minute and 13 seconds later when Krista Yip-Chuck grabbed her own rebound off Boyles' pads and snuck it inside the post to draw the score even at 3-3.

The senior from Port Huron, Mich. skated left to right across the goal, made one move and lifted a backhanded shot off Leonoff's glove and into the goal to give BC the 4-3 victory.
