Potsdam, N.Y. - Senior goaltender Corinne Boyles stopped 28 of 29 Clarkson shots en route to her 10th straight win as the #5 Eagles (12-3-2, 8-2-1) defeated #2 Clarkson (15-4-0, 7-1-0) on Thursday night.

Dru Burns, Dana Trivigno, Emily Field, and Haley Skarupa each notched two points as the Eagles converted on three of their five power play opportunities on the night. Erica Howe made 27 saves for Clarkson as she fell to 14-4-0 while Boyles improved to 10-1-0 this season.

The Eagles shook off any rust they may have had from the holiday break by jumping on the board just a minute into the game. Emily Pfalzer (2) put home a backhander past Clarkson goaltender Emily Howe on the power play to give BC a 1-0 lead early. Dana Trivigno (9) extended the lead to two as she hammered home Haley Skarupa's backhand feed at the post at 11:23. The Golden Knights went on three straight power plays, including a 5-on-3 advantage for 1:34, but Boyles was up to the task as she stymied Clarkson on their man advantages. Shots on goal after 20 minutes of play were 11-9 in favor of BC.

Clarkson was able to tilt the action towards the BC end in the second period with the help of three more power plays but Boyles remained strong as she turned aside all 11 Golden Knights shots in the middle stanza. BC's best bid of the period came on a Meghan Grieves redirect on a 2-on-1 but goaltender Erica Howe stoned her to keep the score at 2-0. Shots on goal after two periods were 21-20 in favor of the Eagles.

The Eagles extended their lead to three at the 4:10 mark of the third as Taylor Wasylk (5) finished off a brilliant feed from Dana Trivigno in the slot to put BC up 3-0. The Golden Knights tried to mount a comeback as Shelby Nisbet blasted a rebound over Boyles' shoulder at 13:36 but BC answered back a minute later. Ashley Motherwell (6) netted her fourth power play tally of the year and Melissa Bizzari (5) finished off a cross-crease pass from Alex Carpenter at 17:12 to round out the scoring.

The Eagles will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as their road trip continues against St. Lawrence. Puck drop is slated for 3 p.m.
