Sophomore forward Roxanne Douville made 29 saves for the Catamounts

HAMILTON, N.Y. - Roxanne Douville made 29 saves and earned her third career shutout as Vermont skated to a 3-0 win in non-conference action over Colgate Sunday afternoon at Starr Rink.

Kellie Dineen opened the scoring for the Catamounts 13:42 into the first period. Dineen's fifth of the season was assisted by Brittany Zuback and Valerie Stoul. It was the first time in five games Vermont scored first.

Vermont added to its lead 4:33 into the second period. Senior captain Chelsea Rapin scored her second of the season from Kailey Nash and Delia McNally to give Vermont a two-goal lead.

Colgate outshot Vermont 21-3 through the final two periods but could not solve Douville.

Megan Dalbec scored her first goal of the season with the Colgate net empty to seal the Catamounts victory, ending their six-game losing streak. Emily Walsh and Meghan Huertas were credited with assists on the play. Huertas recorded her team leading ninth assist of the season.

The win moves Vermont to 3-10-4 overall and 2-6-0 in Hockey East play. The loss drops Colgate to 6-10-1 and 2-4-1 in league play.

NOTES: Vermont is now 2-2-2 when scoring first this season ... Freshmen Amanda Pelkey and Meghan Huertas are now tied for the team lead in scoring with 10 points ... Vermont has scored power play goals in three consecutive games.
