Senior forward Mary Restuccia had two goals and an assist for the Eagles

Providence, R.I. - Senior forward Mary Restuccia scored twice and assisted a third goal to collect the three stars award in the Boston College women's ice hockey win over defending CIS champion McGill on Sunday afternoon at Schneider Arena. The Eagles defeated the Martlets, 5-1, in the exhibition.

Junior Corinne Boyles minded all 60 minutes in net for the Eagles, stopping 18 shots and allowing just a power play goal at 16:47 in the third.

Restuccia opened up the scoring with an even-strength goal at 6:52 in the first. The captain connected with sophomores Taylor Wasylk and Melissa Bizzari.

The two second-year forwards finished the day with two points each. Wasylk increased BC's lead to two when Restuccia found her teammate for a power play goal at 7:21 in the second. Bizzari added her second point when she, along with senior Allison Szlosek, assisted Restuccia late in the second period for the Eagles fourth goal of the day.

Senior Danielle Welch was the third Eagle to find the back of the net, doing so just 21 seconds after Wayslk. Classmate Jessica Martino and junior Caitlin Walsh were credited with assists on the play. Welch was the one star honoree.

Boston College capped its scoring when Emily Field and Alex Carpenter found Ashley Motherwell at 15:40 in the third period.

The Eagles outshot their opponents 43-19 and held a 31-25 advantage on faceoffs. BC was whistled for seven penalties to McGill's three.

The defending Hockey East Tournament Champions travel to No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth to open the 2011-12 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m. The teams wrap up the two-game series the following day at 4 p.m.
