BOSTON UNIVERSITY SHUTS OUT BOSTON COLLEGE, 4-0
Freshman Kerrin Sperry picks up fourth career shutout with 22 saves for Terriers

Freshman forward Marie-Philip Poulin had two goals for the Terriers

The Boston College women's hockey team dropped a 4-0 loss to No. 3 Boston University on Saturday, January 15 at Kelley Rink.

BC is now 13-4-4, 7-2-2 in Hockey East while BU improves to 17-2-3, 7-1-3 in Hockey East and claims the top spot in the league.

It was an even matchup between the Eagles and the Terriers in the scoreless first period. Both teams had several opportunities, with BU slightly outshooting BC 12-11, but nothing was converted until 5:54 in the second period when BU's Jillian Kirchner tallied a score to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead heading into the final frame.

With ten minutes remaining in the game, BC goaltender Molly Schaus stopped a one-on-one shot but it was not enough as the Terriers eventually pulled away, scoring three goals in the last half of the third period, including one empty net goal.

The Eagles are back in action with another Hockey East contest tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Northeastern.
