With several alumni looking on, the Boston College women's ice hockey team skated to a 5-2 home opener victory against Brown. Taylor Wasylk netted two more goals while Andrea Green, Blake Bolden, and Ashley Motherwell scored their first goals of the season in the win. Despite scoring two, Brown could not rally to defeat the eighth-ranked Eagles.

For the second consecutive game BC scored in the first minute of play. After Kelli Stack's faceoff, Wasylk put the puck home first at 00:25, with assists from Blake Bolden and Katelyn Kurth.

BC increased its lead by two in the second period with a power play goal from Blake Bolden and another by Wasylk.

Motherwell netted the Eagles' final goal at 3:46 in the third, assisted by Stack. The Bears were able to sneak one past goaltender Kiera Kingston, but it was not enough to tackle BC's three point lead.
