Canton, N.Y. - The No. 7 Boston College women's ice hockey team upset No. 5 St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon 4-1 to split the weekend series.

On Saturday it was the Eagles that jumped out to an early lead with senior forward Meghan Fardelmann scoring her second goal of the weekend off a dish from fellow senior Colleen Harris at 3:49 in the first.

The Saints tied the score with their only goal of the game in the second period, but junior Allie Thunstrom helped BC regain the lead less than three minutes later in what would be the gamewinner at 9:49 in the second frame. Linemate Kelli Stack and defenseman Maggie Taverna were credited with the assist.

BC continued to pile on the pressure in the third with senior Stephanie Olchowski netting her first goal of the season. Becky Zavisza and Fardelmann were credited with the assist. The dish was Fardelmann's second point of the game, third of the series.

The Eagles added an empty net insurance goal, Thunstrom's second of the game and third of the series, from Katelyn Kurth to give the Eagles a three goal lead and the win.

Goaltender Molly Schaus stopped 38 shots on the night for a weekend total of 70 saves.

The Eagles get back to action on Thursday, when they travel to Northeastern for a Hockey East match-up with the Huskies at 7 p.m.
