Amy Stech registered a goal for the Black Bears

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's ice hockey team fell to Robert Morris 3-2 on Friday afternoon at Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine. Taryn Peacock (Calgary, Alberta) and Vanessa Vani (Mississauga, Ontario) each dished out a pair of assists in the game.

Robert Morris opened the scoring 8:36 into the first period when Alissa Dorman scored a power play goal. Sara O'Malley and Samantha Ullrich each assisted on the first goal of the game for RMU.

Maine tied it when Amy Stech scored her second of the season 14:11 into the second period. Peacock and Vani each assisted on the goal by Stech. The Black Bears took the lead just over two minutes later when rookie Courtney Fox (Jacksontown, New Brunswick) scored from Peacock and Vani. For Fox, it was her first collegiate goal.

O'Malley knotted the game at 2-2 when she scored her sixth of the season just 29 seconds after Maine had scored the go ahead goal. For O'Malley, it was an unassisted tally.

Mallory Giambra notched the game-winner just 3:28 into the third period. Jackie Gibson and Kristen Miles each assisted on the game-winning goal.

Genevieve Turgeon (Lac Beauport, Quebec) made 26 saves in goal for the Black Bears. She falls to 1-6-1 on the season. Brianne McLaughlin made 31 saves in goal for Robert Morris.

The two teams return to action on Saturday, Nov. 10 when they drop the puck at 1 p.m. at Alfond Arena in Orono.
