MAINE DEFEATED BY CLARKSON, 1-0

Sarah Bishop posted 22 saves for the Black Bears

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine Women's Ice Hockey team fell to Clarkson University 1-0 Saturday afternoon. Maine fell to 1-8-1 overall while Clarkson improved to 7-2-1.

In the first period, Clarkson got on the board early. Britney Selina scored for the third time this weekend at 6:44 into the period. She shot it off a Amanda Dittmer rebound. The goal was scored while Clarkson was 6-on-4. Clarkson had pulled their goaltender on a delayed penalty call while they were alread on the penalty. Clarkson outshot Maine 11-7.

The second period saw Maine start to come alive. Despite no scoring in the period, Maine gained some momentum oushooting Clarkson 7-4.

The third period saw the Golden Knights hold on to their lead for the victory. The Black Bears were outshot 8-2 in the final frame.

Maine goaltender Sarah Bishop totalled 22 saves. Clarkson goaltender Lauren Dahm tallied 16 saves in the shutout. Bishop went to 0-3-0 on the season while Dahm went to 3-0-0. Maine was 0-for-2 on the power-play while Clarkson was 1-for-3.

The Black Bears next games will be at home on November 9 and 10 for a series against Robert Morris. The games will be at 2pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday at Alfond Arena.
