HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERS

Caroline Broderick, UNH (Jr., D, Marblehead, Mass.) Notched a career-high two points (1g,1a) at Penn State on Saturday.

Chloe Desjardins, NU (Jr., G, Saint-Prosper, Beauce, Que.) Made 56 saves (.918 save%) in the PC series, including 30 saves in the road win Saturday.

Beth Hanrahan, PC (Jr., F, Marion, Mass.) Led the Friars to a 4-3 win over Northeastern on Friday. She notched two points in the win (1g,1a).

Heather Kashman, UNH (So., F, Edmonton, Alta.) Tied her career high of two points (1g, 1a) with a +3 rating Oct. 26 at Penn State

Jenna Lascelle, UNH (Jr., F, Cornwall, Ont.) Matched her career highs in goals (2) and points (3) Oct. 26 at Penn State; scored the GWG

Kerrin Sperry, BU (Sr., G, North Reading, Mass.) Stopped 30 shots (.968 save%) in the Terriers' 2-1 win over Yale on Saturday.

Samantha Sutherland, BU (Fr., F, Cochrane, Alta.) Had the primary assist on Maddie Elia's goal in BU's 2-1 win over Yale.

TEAM NOTES

Boston College: BC dropped its first away game of the year at Syracuse on Friday, 4-1. The Eagles only had one loss of more than two goals last season (L, 4-1 on March 9 to Northeastern in the Hockey East Semifinals). The Eagles are now 1-1-1 against the Orange in the all-time series. Kate Leary scored the lone goal of the game for BC, her second in as many games. Bizzari and Bender assisted on the goal. It was the second straight game Bizzari tallied an assist, and it marked Bender's 20th career point. The Eagles had 44 shots in the game, and suffered their first loss when taking more than 40 shots this season (2-1-0).

Boston University: BU improved to 3-1-1 with a 2-1 win over Yale in the Terriers' home opener…BU is now 5-1-3 all-time in home openers…BU has the best defense in Hockey East, having allowed just two goals per game…The Terriers' penalty kill has gone clicked at 91.7 percent this season (22 of 24), tops in the league…The Terriers have scored first in all but one game this season...The Terriers outscored Northeastern, 13-7, in three league games last year before defeating the Huskies, 5-2, in the Hockey East title game…BU faces UNH on Friday, one of two teams to defeat the Terriers in league play last season.

Connecticut: UConn's sweep over RPI was its first since taking two from Maine on Jan. 21 and 22, 2011…that was also the last time UConn won consecutive games, as part of a five-game winning streak…UConn has matched its 2012-13 win total through seven games this year…three Huskies, Emily Snodgrass, Brittany Berisoff and Michela Cava, had multi-point games against RPI on Saturday…nine different players tallied a point in that game.

Maine: Sophomore goalie Meghann Treacy set a new career high in saves with 55 against Mercyhurst beating her previous record of 51 set earlier this year against UNH. Maine falls to a 0-5-1 record after back-to-back games against eight-ranked Mercyhurst.

New Hampshire: UNH extended its winning streak to three games – all on the road – and unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) with the two-game sweep at Penn State (8-5, 3-1)…UNH has won four consecutive road games and is 4-1-0 on the road this season…The eight goals marked the highest total by the Wildcats since Jan. 16, 2009 (8-3 win vs. Dartmouth College)…UNH scored on 5 of 8 (.625) power plays vs. PSU…The 'Cats are now 11-for-37 (.297) on the power play this season…UNH has been outscored 8-5 in the first period despite a 93-70 shot advantage and the Wildcats have outscored the opposition 9-5 in the third despite an 84-66 shot deficit.

Northeastern: Northeastern netted its fifth shorthanded goal of the season on Saturday, which is the most in the country…The Huskies also netted their first power play goal of the season on Friday night…Chloe Desjardins made 30 saves on Saturday, marking the second time this season that she has accomplished that feat.

Providence: With their 4-3 over Northeastern on Friday, Oct. 25, the Friars earned their first win in Matthews Arena since Feb. 6, 2010, when the Friars defeated the Huskies 2-1. Friday's win moved their all-time record in Hockey East opening games to 6-3-3. Beth Hanrahan tallied her seventh career game-winning goal to tie with the team leader Corinne Buie for most career game-winning goals.

Vermont: Amanda Pelkey is on a four-game point streak, she has picked eight points in the last four games...She is currently ninth in the country (2nd in Hockey East) in scoring with six goals and five assists for 11 points in seven games this season… Vermont's power play was three-for-three on Saturday in the Catamounts 6-4 loss at Robert Morris…Vermont's power play is also ninth in the country converting 22.6% (7 for 31) of the time…UVM's offense is producing at a record clip this season, the Catamounts average 2.86 goals a game, 12th in the country … Vermont concludes its season long seven-game road trip this weekend as they open Hockey East play at UConn and Boston University.
