24-game point streak ended on Tuesday...The Eagles have outscored their
opponents 50-23 in the third period this season...BC is 8-4-1 when allowing the
first goal this season...BC is averaging 4.74 goals per game, good for second in
the NCAA behind Minnesota (5.60) while their power play is also second behind
Minnesota with a 32.26% success rate...Corinne Boyles stopped a season high
40 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Harvard at the Beanpot...BC is going for
their fifth Beanpot title in the last eight seasons on Tuesday.
Boston University: BU is now 18-4-3 overall with a 13-2-1 mark in Hockey East
play…The Terriers' game against New Hampshire scheduled for Feb. 9 was
rescheduled for Feb. 20 at 7pm…The Terriers had their 13-game unbeaten streak
snapped on Tuesday at Northeastern…BU had gone 11-0-2 during its unbeaten
streak, which was the second longest such streak in the nation…Freshman Sarah
Lefort has notched a point in seven of her last eight games (6g,4a)…Senior
Isabel Menard is just two assists shy of 100 for her career…BU will face Harvard
in the Beanpot for the second straight season on Tuesday…The Terriers topped
the Crimson, 5-2, in the opening round of last year's Beanpot and also earned a
2-1 win against Harvard earlier this season at Walter Brown Arena.
University of Connecticut: The Huskies presented The Friends of Mel Foundation
with a check for $15,000 at its Skating Strides Game vs. Providence on
Friday night...With Saturday's loss, UConn is now 1-2-2 in overtime this year...
Sophomores Kayla Campero, Rachel Farrel and Sarah MacDonnell each recorded
a goal and an assist in the 4-3 OT loss to the Friars. Both of UConn's game on the
weekend were postponed. UConn returns to action on Monday night at UNH.
University of Maine: The Black Bears split a pair of games this weekend against
Vermont. Maine saw a 4-3 win on Saturday afternoon and fell to the Catamounts
on Sunday by a score of 4-1. Brianne Kilgour registered two goals and one assist
in the 4-3 win while Audra Richards continued her stellar rookie campaign with
two more assists and another goal. Brooklyn Langlois, Kelly McDonald, Brittney
Huneke, Chloe Tinkler, and Hailey Browne all notched points over the weekend
as well. Brittany Ott saw her record move to 5-13-3 after the weekend split in
which she allowed six goals while registering 60 saves.
University of New Hampshire: The Wildcats were slated to play a pair of
games over the weekend, but due to Winter Storm Nemo, both were rescheduled.
Saturday's game against Boston University was moved to Wednesday,
Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. while Sunday's game against Connecticut was moved to
Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. The game against the Huskies will be aired live on
FOX College Sports Atlantic. Monday's game will conclude the series between
UNH and UConn. The Wildcats lead the series, 2-0.
Northeastern University: The Huskies and Eagles will meet in the Beanpot
final for the first time since 1996, and only the fourth time in the history of the
tournament; NU is 3-0 all-time against BC in the Beanpot final … The last time
both the Northeastern men's and women's teams reached the Beanpot final in
the same season was in 1996 … NU's three-goal victory is the program's largest
Beanpot victory since Feb. 15, 2005, when it defeated Boston University 4-0 in
the consolation game … Northeastern's first period lead marked the first time
since Casey Pickett's overtime goal in the 2012 Beanpot title game that the
Huskies have led the Terriers in any game (95 minutes, 45 seconds).
Providence College: The Friars have 19 different players notching points this
season. Ten of those 19 have tallied double digit points. With the Friars overtime
win against Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 2, the Friars earned their second
overtime win of the season. The last time Providence had two overtime wins in
a single season was during the 2010-11 season. The win on Saturday, Feb. 2
was the Friars 300th win in Schneider Arena.
University of Vermont: With Vermont's win Sunday afternoon the team set a
program record for conference wins with six, and also clinched at least sixth
place, another program first…The Catamounts were a perfect 16-for-16 on
the penalty kill this weekend…Brittany Zuback's three points Sunday moved
her past Peggy Wakeham (2009-10) as the most by a Catamount in a single
Division I season…Emily Walsh's assist on Zuback's empty-net goal broke a tie
at 49 points as Vermont's all-time Division I scoring leader with Chelsea Furlani
(2006-10) and Celeste Doucet (2007-11)…Vermont's four third period goals
Sunday were the most the team has scored in a single period since scoring
four in a 7-2 win at Union on October 10, 2008.
