MAINE SWEEPS SACRED HEART TO KICKOFF 10TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON

~ WHEA teams own 5-0-1 record in six exhibitions over weekend ~

	PURE HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
	#2 DANIELLE WARD, MAINE (Senior Forward; Lansing, Mich.)
	Ward scored two goals and added two assists in weekend sweep of Sacred Heart. She picked up Maine's first goal of the season and it turned out to be the game-winner on Friday. Ward scored a goal and dished out an assist on Saturday, tallying the game-winner on Saturday as well.

	PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
	#17 JENNIFER MORE, MAINE (Freshman Forward; Deloraine, Manitoba)
	Scored two goals, one on the power play, and added an assist for three points in her collegiate debut weekend.

	WHEA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
	#12 MELISSA GAGNON, MAINE (Senior Defenseman; St. Gilles, Quebec)
	Gagnon spearheaded Maine's defense, which allowed just one goal and 24 shots in two games. She chipped in offensively with a goal and two assists in the Sacred Heart series.

	WHEA TEAM OF THE WEEK
	MAINE BLACK BEARS
	The Black Bears outscored Sacred Heart over the weekend by a combined 14 to 1 score. Maine went 4 for 11 on the power play and went a perfect six-for-six on the penalty kill. The Black Bears outshot the Pioneers, 135-24, for the series and notched an amazing 72 shots in the win on Saturday afternoon.
