MONTHLY HONORS: BU'S JENN WAKEFIELD TABBED WHEA PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER

~ PC's Buie earns Top Rookie Award; BU's Sperry takes Top Goalie honors ~

	PURE HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE MONTH
	Jenn Wakefield - Boston University Junior Forward; Pickering, Ont.
	Wakefield recorded seven points in just three games during December. She helped lead the Terriers to back-to-back Hockey East shutouts with three points, including a power-play and game-winning goal, in a 4-0 win against UConn. Wakefield then added one goal in a 3-0 whitewash against Northeastern. The Pickering, Ont., native also launched a game-high 11 shots against the Huskies. In the month's final game, Wakefield netted a goal and two assists as the Terriers defeated Harvard for the first time in program history. Runner-up: Dawn Sullivan, Maine (Jr., F, Enfield, Nova Scotia) 4GP, 5 pts. (2g,3a)

	WHEA GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
	Kerrin Sperry - Boston University Freshman Goaltender; North Reading, Mass.
	Sperry improved to 11-0-2 on the season with three wins during December (1.00 GAA, .954 save%). In her first two starts, she stopped all 12 and 23 shots against UConn and Northeastern, respectively, as she became the first BU netminder to record back-to-back shutouts. In BU's 5-3 win over Harvard, Sperry collected 27 saves. Runners-up: Candice Currier, Maine (Jr., Goffstown, N.H.) 1-0-1, 1.44 GAA, .923 save% Genevieve Lacasse, PC (Jr., Scarborough, Ont.) 2-0-0, 1.50 GAA, .936 save%

	PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
	Corinne Buie - Providence College Freshman Forward; Edina, Minn.
	Buie had five points in two games in December. She tallied three assists in a 4-2 over visiting New Hampshire on December 4. Buie then collected a goal and assist in a 5-1 victory over visiting UConn on December 5. Runner-up: Marie-Philip Poulin, BU (F, Beauceville, Que.) 3GP, 5pts. (4g,1a)
