Providence at Robert Morris – 2 Games (Fri., Sat)
• Providence owns a 3-0-1 all-time record against the Colonials. The last time the teams met
was a two-game series in Moon Township, Pa. in November of 2008.
• Friars goalie Genevieve Lacasse 878 shots last season, a new single-season PC record and
a total which ranked sixth in the nation among Div. I goaltenders.
Northeastern at Syracuse (Fri.) at Union (Sat.)
• The Huskies defeated Union in their season opener last year, 4-1, on Oct. 3rd.
• Senior Forward Kristi Kehoe returns as the team leading scorer from a year ago with 26 points
(12g,14a) in 33 contests.
• NU ranked sixth in the nation last season in team defense allowing only 1.55 goals per
game.
New Hampshire at Connecticut – Freitas Ice Forum (Sat.) - WHEA Opener
• UConn's Alexandra Garcia posted a league best 1.42 GAA in league play in 09-10.
• UNH has a 28-3-2 lifetime record in season openers and that includes 11-1-1 on the road.
• The Wildcats swept the season series last year vs. UConn, 3-0 (3-1, 3-1, 4-1).
No. 4 Boston University at North Dakota – Two-Game Series (Sat., Sun.)
• The Terriers 2-1-2 in their season-opening game. The game marks the third time in four years
the Terriers will play a WCHA team in their season opener.
• BU received its highest preseason rankings in team history in the USA Today/USA Hockey
Magazine (4) and USCHO.com poll (6) this week.
• The Terriers and Fighting Sioux have met once previously, a 2-2 tie on Oct. 5, 2007 at the
Bauer Women's Classic in Minneapolis, Minn.
McGill at Vermont – Gutterson Fieldhouse (Sat.) Exhibition
• The Catamounts fell to McGill last year in overtime, 2-1 on Oct. 4 in exhibition play.
• UVM officially opens its season next weekend with a two-game set at Rensselaer beginning
on Friday, Oct. 8th.
