HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES

Aerin Frankel (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) posted her third consecutive shutout on Friday, extending her personal shutout streak to 200:02 of work. It was her sixth perfect game of the season of the season, and 25th overall in her career. Frankel is now just one shutout shy of tying the Hockey East record for career shutouts in league play behind Boston College’s Katie Burt (24.)

Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) earned the first hat trick of her tenure at Northeastern, and second of her career, in Friday’s 5-0 home contest against Merrimack and was named Hockey East Player of the Week for her efforts.

Kelly Browne (Burlington, Mass.) had a three-point weekend in a sweep of UConn. The junior scored a goal in BC’s win on Saturday and then added two assists in a win on Sunday. She recorded 22 face-off wins and one blocked shot with eight shots on goal.

Maureen Murphy (Buffalo, N.Y.) earned the first hat trick of her tenure at Northeastern, and second of her career, in Friday’s 5-0 home contest against Merrimack. She followed it up with an assist in Saturday’s victory, leading the league with four points on the weekend.


PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Natalie Tulchinsky - Boston College

Natalie Tulchinsky (Clinton Park, N.Y.) led all league rookies in assists, points, and points per game last week as Boston College swept UConn. The rookie recorded an assist in the Eagles’ win over the Huskies on Sunday to go along with one blocked shot.

Kelly Browne, BC (Jr., F; Burlington, Mass.) Had a three-point weekend in a sweep of UConn. The junior scored a goal in BC’s win on Saturday and then added two assists in a win on Sunday. She recorded 22 face-off wins and one blocked shot with eight shots on goal.

Abigail Levy, BC (Jr., G; Congers, N.Y.) Posted a 33-save shutout in Sunday’s road win at UConn. She made 14 saves in the second and 12 in the third en route to her first shutout as an Eagle.

Alexie Guay, BC (So., D; Magog, Que.) Had a three point weekend with one goal and two assists in a win at UConn. The defenseman added five blocked shots and six shots on goal.

Alina Mueller, NU (Jr., F; Winterthur, Switzerland) Led the league with 17 shots on goal last week, scoring three goals and adding one assist in three games. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over UConn on Tuesday before dishing out two assists in a 6-0 win on Saturday over Merrimack.

Skylar Fontaine, NU (Sr., D; East Greenwich, R.I.) Recorded four points (2g, 2a) in a sweep of Merrimack, including a three-point game in Saturday’s 6-0 victory. She scored the game-winning goal in that contest and finished the weekend with a plus-five rating.

Gwyneth Philips, NU (So., G; Athens, Ohio) Made 21 saves in her second start of the year to post a shutout in a 6-0 win over Merrimack on Saturday. She extended Northeastern’s shutout to four consecutive games.
