No. 4/4 Northeastern swept No. 7/7 Providence, allowing just one goal to the potent Friars offense in a two-game set. Alina Mueller (Winterthur, Switzerland) was third in the nation with five points last week, including scoring three goals. Mueller is currently riding a five-game point streak (4g, 7a) with 11 points, third-most in the nation in that span.

New Hampshire’s Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) posted back-to-back shutouts in a weekend sweep of Merrimack, stopping each of the 30 shots she faced from the Warriors to deliver the Wildcats their first consecutive shutouts since Feb. 12 & 18, 2011. Brianna Brooks (Whitby, Ont.) netted a career-high two goals for a personal best of two points to propel UNH to Saturday’s 4-0 win against Merrimack College at the Whittemore Center while firing eight shots on net.

Maine and Boston University dueled in a two-game set, with the Terriers claiming a 1-0 win on Saturday before Maine goaltender Loryn Porter (North Bay, Ont.) pitched a 37-stop shutout Sunday afternoon in a 2-0 road win. Corinne Schroeder (Elm Creek, Man.) made 20 saves, including nine in the third period, to shut out Maine, 1-0, on Saturday night. It was her seventh career shutout, three of which have been 1-0 victories.

In a quickly rescheduled game on Saturday, Boston College earned a 2-1 win over UConn in overtime with a goal off the stick of Jillian Fey (Nantucket, Mass.) It was the junior’s third game-winning goal of the year.

Northeastern’s Skylar Fontaine (East Greenwich, R.I.) reached the 100 career points mark with the Huskies on Saturday with a goal and an assist, becoming just the third defenseman in Northeastern history to reach the milestone. Fontaine already holds NU program records among defensemen in career scoring, career game-winning goals, and single-season assists. The reigning Hockey East Best Defenseman from 2019-20, Fontaine led the country with a plus-49 rating while her 42 points (17g, 25a) were second among NCAA blueliners.

Alina Mueller (Winterthur, Switzerland) was third in the nation with five points last week, including scoring three goals, one on the power-play, and added two assists for five points. She led the nation with two power-play points and fired eight shots on net as she powered Northeastern to a weekend sweep of No. 7/7 Providence. She posted a four-point outing (2g, 2a) with the game-winning assist in Saturday’s 5-0 win.

Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) posted back-to-back shutouts in a weekend sweep of Merrimack, stopping each of the 30 shots she faced from the Warriors to deliver the Wildcats their first consecutive shutouts since Feb. 12 & 18, 2011. She denied six power- play opportunities in Friday’s 3-0 road win and three man advantages in Saturday’s 4-0 triumph. Boutilier is now second all time on UNH’s career saves leaderboard with 2,178. She is also fourth in career minutes (4746:04).

Brianna Brooks - New Hampshire

Brianna Brooks (Whitby, Ont.) netted a career-high two goals for a personal best of two points to propel UNH to Saturday’s 4-0 win against Merrimack College at the Whittemore Center while firing eight shots on net. Her first goal gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead 53 seconds into the game and that proved to be the game-winning goal. She struck again 73 seconds into the third period to extend the lead to 4-0.

Loryn Porter - Maine

Loryn Porter (North Bay, Ont.) saved 65 of 66 shots faced on the weekend at BU. The senior goaltender allowed one only goal Saturday night in a 1-0 setback before pitching a 37-stop shutout Sunday afternoon in a 2-0 road win.


HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS

Jillian Fey, BC (Jr., F; Nantucket, Mass.) Scored her third game-winning goal on Saturday, this tally coming in the overtime against UConn. She also fired five shots on goal.

Abigail Levy, BC (Jr., G: Congers, N.Y.) Made 28 saves on 29 shots in BC’s overtime win over UConn to post a 0.97 goals against average and .966 save percentage.

Nara Elia, BU (Sr., F; Saskatoon, Sask.) Used a terrific individual effort to slide a backhander past Maine goaltender Loryn Porter to lift the Terriers to a 1-0 victory over Maine on Saturday night.

Andi Calderone, BU (Fr., D; Kirkland, Que.) Provided the primary helper on the game-winning goal in the Terriers’ 1-0 triumph over Maine on Saturday night.

Corinne Schroeder, BU (Sr., G; Elm Creek, Man.) Made 20 saves, including nine in the third period, to shut out Maine, 1-0, on Saturday night. It was her seventh career shutout. She then totaled 19 saves in a hard-luck 2-0 loss on Sunday. Three of Schroeder’s seven career shutouts have been 1-0 victories, which are also three of the just four 1-0 triumphs in program history.

Lauren Martin, UNH (Jr., F; Cambridge, Ont.) Scored a goal and added two assists in a weekend sweep of Merrimack, firing six shots on net and winning 19 of 32 faceoffs she took. She set up the game-winning goal in Friday’s 3-0 win.

Jada Christian, UNH (So., F; Caledon East, Ont.) Recorded a career-high two assists Friday at Merrimack to match her personal best and nearly double her career assist total; she had three assists in her first 50 career games. She netted a goal Saturday to finish the weekend with three points (1g, 2a).

Molly Griffin, NU (Fr., F; Arlington, Mass.) Earned her first collegiate goal in 10 games against No. 7/7 Providence on Friday night.
