Weekly Release: New Hampshire Sweeps League Weekend
Northeastern Wins Twice At Syracuse

New Hampshire improved to 3-1-1 overall on the year by sweeping a league weekend, including a 4-2 win over #10 Boston University. Sophomore defenseman Emily Rickwood (Brantford, Ont.) notched three points (1g, 2a) against the Terriers. Netminder Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) made 50 saves allowed just two goals in her 2-0-0 weekend. On Saturday, she held #10 Boston University to two goals and made 27 saves after a 23-save shutout of UConn on Friday.

Northeastern earned a pair of wins at Syracuse led by sophomore Alina Mueller's (Winterthur, Switzerland) five points (1g, 4a). In Saturday's 6-3 victory, she dished out three helpers and scored a power-play tally. Freshman Katy Knoll (Amherst, N.Y.) picked up her first career NCAA goal on Saturday, finding the back of the net on the power-play 8:21 into the first period. The rookie also added two blocked shots to help the Huskies to a 6-3 win.

UConn split a league weekend thanks to a 19-save shutout from sophomore Samantha Carpentier-Yelle (Bromont, Que.) in Saturday's 2-0 road win over Holy Cross. With the win, Carpentier-Yelle improved to 2-0-0 on the year with just one goal allowed in 115:08 of work.

Providence went 1-0-1 in a two-game set at Bemidji State, moving to 2-1-1 on the year. Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) potted two goals for the Friars in a 5-1 win at Bemidji State on Friday night.

Vermont took a 1-0-1 series against St. Lawrence, remaining unbeaten through the first four games at 2-0-2. It is the Catamounts' best start to a season since 2007-08. Vermont rookie Lily Humphrey (Huntington Beach, Calif.) netted two goals against the Saints over the weekend. Her two goals were the most of any league rookie last weekend while she tied for the most points by a firs t-year player.

Maine's Loryn Porter (North Bay, Ont.) earned her second shutout in as many starts in 2019-20, blanking Quinnipiac on Saturday. All 20 of her saves were needed as the Black Bears earned a 0-0 stalemate.

Alina Mueller (Winterthur, Switzerland) contributed to the Huskies' weekend sweep of Syracuse by collecting one goal and four assists. In Saturday's 6-3 victory, she dished out three helpers and scored a power-play tally.

Lily Humphrey - Vermont

Lily Humphrey (Huntington Beach, Calif.) netted two goals against St. Lawrence over the weekend, helping the Catamounts to a 1-0-1 home stand. Her two goals were the most of any league rookie last weekend while she tied for the most points by a first-year player.

Ava Boutilier - New Hampshire

Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, P.E.I.) backstopped the Wildcats to a 2-0-0 weekend in Hockey East play making 50 saves in a pair of wins and allowing just two goals. On Saturday, she held #10 Boston University to two goals and made 27 saves in a 4-2 victory.

Sammy Davis, BU (Sr., F; Pembroke, Mass.) Led the Terriers with three points in two games this weekend. She tallied a goal and an assist at New Hampshire on Saturday and dished out a primary helper on Friday's game-tying goal against Merrimack on Friday.

Julia Nearis, BU (Fr., F; Beverly, Mass.) Scored her first collegiate goal in BU's 2-2 draw with Merrimack on Friday night.

Corinne Schroeder, BU (Jr., G; Elm Creek, Man.) Stopped 21 shots in a 2-2 tie with Merrimack Friday night.

Kate Stuart, BU (So., G; Chilliwack, B.C.) Kicked out a career-high 43 saves Saturday against New Hampshire.

Samantha Carpentier-Yelle, UConn (So., G: Bromont, Que.) Stopped all 19 shots she faced Saturday in a 2-0 road win over Holy Cross, improving to 2-0-0 on the year with just one goal allowed.

Maddie Giordano, ME (So., F; Granby, Conn.) Scored both of Maine's goals in a 3-2 set back to Quinnipiac on Friday night, extending her point streak to three straight games.

Liga Miljone, ME (So., F; Riga, Latvia) Assisted on both of Maddie Giordano's goals in a 3-2 overtime loss to Quinnipiac Friday evening.

Keisha DiCaire, MC (So., F; Ottawa, Ont.) Dished out a pair of assists to help Merrimack skate to a 2-2 draw at #10 Boston University, tying her career high for points in a game.

Lea-Kristine Demers, MC (Sr., G; Repentigny, Que.) Stopped 33 of 35 shots she saw at #10 BU, earning a 2-2 road draw with the Terriers.

Emily Rickwood, UNH (So., D; Brantford, Ont.) Notched three points (1g, 2a) in a 4-2 win against #10 Boston University on Saturday.

Sara Hjalmarsson, PC (So., F; Bankeryd, Sweden) Potted two goals for the Friars in a 5-1 win at Bemidji State on Friday night.

Lauren DeBlois, PC (Fr., D; Lewiston, Maine) Tallied her first career assist on Friday, setting up the Friars' first goal of a 5-1 win at Bemidji State. She followed up with her first NCAA goal the next day on the power play, giving the Friars a 2-1 lead.

Maude Poulin-Labelle, UVM (So., D; Sherbrooke, Que.) Registered three points (2g, 1a) in a 1-0-1 series against St. Lawrence. She was the only league defenseman to score two goals this week and finished with a plus-two rating.
