BOSTON - Jordan Harris netted a pair of goals and Ty Jackson added a goal and an assist as No. 10 Northeastern (3-2-2) dropped a tough 4-3 Hockey East battle to No. 9 Massachusetts (7-3-1) on Friday inside Matthews Arena. The Huskies took a 3-2 lead in the third period, before UMass responded with two straight goals over five minutes to earn the one-goal victory.

UMass took a 2-1 lead into the third period before the 10th-ranked Huskies made their charge. Jackson scored the equalizer with a nifty backhand goal into the top of the net with just over six minutes into the final period. Harris connected on a blistering slap shot from the blue line to give Northeastern its first lead of the game, 3-2 (10:43). The Minutemen responded with a scramble goal in front of the net to tie the game and Oliver Chau scored the game winner on a rebound with just over five minutes remaining in the game.

Dylan Jackson posted two assists on the night, while Connor Murphy made 22 saves. Zach Solow, Aidan McDonough and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine each had assists for the Huskies.

The Huskies and Minutemen will conclude this home-and-home series on Saturday at the Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass. The game will be televised on NESN + at 6 p.m.
