Boston University, Maine Skate to 2-2 Tie

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine men's ice hockey team tied Boston University, 2-2, on Saturday evening in the Alfond Arena.

First Goal (Maine 1-0): Tim Doherty scored Maine's first goal of the Saturday evening contest. Mitchell Fossier found Veli-Matti Tiuriameni at the blue line. The defenseman fired a shot on goal that was saved by BU. Doherty cleaned up the rebound and gave Maine a very early 1-0 lead.

Second Goal (1-1): Trevor Zegras, from one knee, tied the game at one goal apiece with eight minutes remaining in the second period. Patrick Curry's pass found its way through the Black Bear defense and to a streaking Zegras.

Third Goal (Maine 2-1): Adrien Bisson scored his first career goal early in the third period for the Black Bears. The freshman's shot found its way from the blue line into the back of the BU net. It was the final goal of regulation for the Black Bears.

Fourth Goal (2-2): Boston University scored a dirty goal after they pulled their goaltender with just over two minutes left in regulation. Matthew Quercia tallied the game tying score for the Terriers.

The two squads would battle to scoreless overtime period as the 2-2 score would stand.

Notes: Jeremy Swayman finished with 35 saves, while Sam Tucker tallied 23 for BU.

Maine went 0-3 on the power play, as the Terriers were 0-6 on their man advantages.

The Black Bears blocked eight shots during the win.

Next: The Black Bears will continue Hockey East play when they travel to UMass Lowell next weekend. Puck drop for the November 8th game is scheduled for 7:15 pm.
