Freshman forward Joel Farabee scored with 57 seconds remaining for the Terriers

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Boston University freshman Joel Farabee broke a 1-1 tie with 57 seconds left in the third period as the Terriers took a 2-1 win and weekend sweep over the Catamounts on Green Out the Gut night, presented by Casella.

BU improves to 13-15-3 (11-8-2 HEA) while UVM drops to 12-18-2 (5-15-2 HEA).

COACH'S QUOTE

"Our guys played our hearts out all weekend and have absolutely nothing to show for it," head coach Kevin Sneddon said. "It was a great weekend for Stef. We did a lot of great things. We were treated to some pretty darn good goaltending."

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Freshman Joey Cipollone puts the Cats in front with his ninth goal of the season at 7:14 of the first period. Cipollone knocked home UVM's third shot after Jake Oettinger (19 saves) stopped shots from Max Kaufman and Derek Lodermeier on UVM's first power play chance of the game.

- Stefanos Lekkas brought the Catamount faithful to their feet with 3:07 remaining in the second period with a pair of saves on a Terrier odd-man rush. Lekkas stopped the initial shot from Matthew Quercia and then made a desperation glove save on Shane Switzer to keep BU off the board.

- The Terriers tied the game at 1-1 with 1:35 to play in the second. Junior Patrick Harper finished the play after a string of passes on a Terrier rush in the Vermont zone. Patrick Curry and Cam Crotty assisted on the equalizer. A pair of reviews confirmed the call on the ice.

- Vermont killed two Terrier power plays in the third period to keep the game tied at 1-1. UVM put three shots on goal on a pair unsuccessful power plays in the final period.

- Farabee broke the deadlock with 57 seconds left in regulation after receiving a pass in the slot from Logan Cockerill.

GAME NOTES

- Lekkas became the third Cat this season and just the fifth Vermont goalie to play in 100 career games in Green & Gold. He also passed Tim Thomas '97 for the fifth most saves in a single season at UVM. Lekkas now has 980 saves in 2018-19, ahead of Thomas' 1994-95 total of 961 stops.

- BU's goal at 18:25 of the second period against Lekkas broke a 140:04 stretch where the junior did not allow a goal.
