BOSTON UNIVERSITY ROLLS PAST WISCONSIN, 7-3
Seven different Terriers register multiple-point games

Senior defenseman Garrett Noonan had a goal and two assists for the Terriers

BOSTON - Seven Terriers found the back of the net to lead the No. 15 Boston University men's ice hockey team to a 7-3 triumph over No. 2 Wisconsin on Saturday evening at Agganis Arena. BU outscored the visitors by a 6-2 margin over the final two periods to improve to 3-1-0 on the season.

Junior Cason Hohmann recorded a goal and three assists to be one of seven BU players who had a multi-point night. Sophomore Matt O'Connor had a 40-save performance, posting at least 14 saves each period.

BU never trailed in the game, opening the scoring on a power-play goal by sophomore Ahti Oksanen midway through the first period. Wisconsin got a power-play tally of its own late in the period to draw even, but the Terriers scored three times in the middle stanza to take the lead for good.

The Badgers (2-2-0) got goals from Jake McCabe, Keegan Meuer and Michael Mersch while holding a 43-26 shot advantage. Goaltender Landon Peterson stopped just 19 of the 26 shots he faced.

The Terriers converted on three of their seven chances with the man advantage and the visitors went 2-for-4 on the power play.

Freshman Robbie Baillargeon had the best game of his young career, potting his first collegiate goal in addition to a pair of assists. Senior Garrett Noonan had the same scoring line (1g, 2a) while Oksanen and fellow sophomores Matt Grzelcyk and Matt Lane each notched a goal and an assist. Another sophomore, Mike Moran, rounded out the septet of goal scorers with his second career tally.

Arguably the biggest goal of the contest was the eventual game-winner. With BU holding a 3-2 lead late in the second period while on a power play, a shot by Grzelcyk from the right point found its way through traffic to the back of the net to give the home team a 4-2 advantage heading into the second intermission.

BU will return to action on Friday (Oct. 25) when they visit No. 5 Michigan.
