BOSTON - Thanks to a trio of goals in the second period, the Boston University men's ice hockey team posted a 4-1 victory over visiting Connecticut on Sunday afternoon at Agganis Arena.

Sophomore Danny O'Regan opened the scoring just 33 seconds into the second stanza before freshman Nick Roberto doubled the lead just over five minutes later. Freshman Kevin Duane completed the three-goal spurt with a tip-in on a power play at 14:44 of the period.

UConn spoiled sophomore Matt O'Connor's shutout bid when senior Brant Harris scored on a wrister from the left circle with 16:08 left in the third.

Freshman Robbie Baillargeon created the 4-1 final with an empty-netter in the final minute of regulation.

O'Connor finished with 28 saves to pick up his fourth win of the season. BU held a 41-29 shot advantage for the game.

The Huskies committed just one penalty, but BU's power play converted on its lone chance. BU killed off all three UConn power-play chances, including a late 5-on-3.

The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Nov. 22) when they take on North Dakota in the opener of a weekend series at Agganis Arena. The game, which will be broadcast nationally on the NBC Sports Network, will start at 7:30 p.m.
