Senior goaltender Kieran Millan posted his seventh career shutout for the Terriers

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior forward Wade Megan scored twice and three additional Terriers scored one goal each in Boston University's first shutout of Boston College in more than 28 years on Sunday before a sellout crowd of 7,884 fans at Kelley Rink.

The Terriers, who scored twice in each of the first two periods and once in the final frame blanked the host and second-ranked Eagles for the first time since a 3-0 win on March 1, 1983.

Of the Terriers five goals, two were scored on the power play and one was scored shorthanded. BU converted two of its five man-advantage opportunities while Boston College finished 0-for-8 on the power play.

Senior center Corey Trivino got the visitors on the board just 54 seconds into the contest and Megan doubled the BU lead on the power-play with 46.4 seconds left in the opening period.

Junior Alex Chiasson extended the Terrier lead to 3-0 while skating with a two-man advantage at 9:58 of the second period and sophomore Matt Nieto added an even-strength goal at the 15:43 mark to put BU up 4-0.

Megan capped the game's scoring with a shorthanded goal at 18:22 of the third period.

The Eagles tallied a narrow 21-20 advantage in shots. BU goaltender Kieran Millan made 21 saves in the the victory, improving to 3-4-0 on the year.

BC junior goalie Parker Milner made 15 saves to fall to 9-3-0.
