Billy Ryan tallied the game-tying goal for the Black Bears

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - BC sophomore defenseman Carl Sneep and Maine senior forward Billy Ryan each netted one goal as fifth-ranked Boston College and 12th-ranked Maine battled to a 1-1 Hockey East tie before 6,017 fans in Kelley Rink.

Sneep gave the host Eagles a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 5:32 of the second period. The goal was the first of the season and second career goal for Sneep. Juniors Kyle Kucharski and Andrew Orpik assisted on the score.

Ryan evened the score with a breakaway goal just more than four minutes later - at 9:42. Senior Nolan Boike and junior Simon Danis-Pepin picked up assists on the goal.

Both teams enjoyed numerous scoring chances, but the two goaltenders - Maine junior Ben Bishop and BC freshman John Muse - met the challenge. Bishop finished with 26 saves. Muse stopped 19 shots.
