Pete MacArthur scores twice for Terriers

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Junior forward Pete MacArthur scored two first-period goals and senior goalie John Curry made 32 saves to lead sixth-ranked Boston University to a 4-1 Hockey East victory over 13th-ranked Boston College before 7,288 fans in Conte Forum.

Curry stopped nine shots in each of the first two periods and made 15 saves in the final frame to record his 10th victory of the season.

Sophomore Chris Higgins tallied one goal and one assist for the victors.

MacArthur opened the scoring at 9:55, then doubled the BU margin with a power-play goal at 13:37.

BC sophomore Nathan Gerbe cut the lead in half just 54 seconds into the middle period with his third short-handed goal of season.

Higgins tallied his ninth goal of the season midway through the third period and sophomore Jason Lawrence sealed the win with a power-play goal at 18:01.

The Eagles outshot the Terriers, 33-22.

Junior goalie Cory Schneider finished with 18 saves for Boston College (13-9-1, 9-7-1 Hockey East), which has lost three straight contests.

BU (13-4-6, 10-3-5 HE) and BC will conclude the league regular-season series on Friday, Jan. 26 at Agganis Arena.
