Wakefield, Mass. - Hockey East announced on Wednesday the league's composite television schedule for the current 2011-12 season.

New England college hockey fans will have access to a league-record 80 telecasts involving Hockey East teams in the 28th season of league play, highlighted by the recently signed national contract with NBC Sports Network and the New England Sports Network (NESN) as the regional rightsholder, to go along with national coverage on the CBS Sports Network. All games in the three league packages will be broadcast in high definition (HD) for the first time ever.

The league will also receive valuable regional and local exposure in New England on Cox Sports in Providence, WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine, the CW in Portland, Maine, WBIN-TV in Derry, N.H., which reaches in Boston, WCAX-TV in Burlington, Vt and CBS Now in the Western Massachusetts.

The Hockey East Association is a 10-team Division I college men's hockey conference founded in 1984 and an eight-team Division I women's league which began play in 2002-03. The men's league has won seven NCAA championships in the past 19 years.
