2019-20 Hockey East Composite Schedule Released
Games Begin October 5; League Kicks off With Maine at Providence

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - The Hockey East Association unveiled the 2019-20 men's composite schedule today at the league's annual media day at TD Garden. Each of the 11 member institutions will play 22 league contests as well as several featured non-conference tilts and tournaments. Hockey East teams begin play Saturday, October 5 when seven teams open the 2019-20 season, including the first league match up between Maine and Providence that will be televised on NESN at 4 p.m. Boston College, Boston University, UConn, UMass Lowell, Merrimack, and Vermont also begin play on the first Saturday. Hockey East competition kicks off in earnest on October 25, when four league games are slated.

Several special events highlight the season schedule in 2019-20 including the fifth iteration of Friendship Four Tournament. This year, New Hampshire and Northeastern will travel to Belfast, Northern Ireland over Thanksgiving weekend to attempt to reclaim the Belpot for Hockey East. ECAC foes Colgate and Princeton will join the Wildcats and Huskies overseas, hoping to retain the brass cowbell after Quinnipiac won the trophy in 2018. Northeastern will be the first school to return for its second trip after competing in the inaugural Friendship Four in 2015, kicking off a run that saw the Huskies claim the Hockey East Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament berth.
